Here’s an update on interest rates:  The Federal Reserve announced yesterday that it would keep interest rates steady, but suggested that more hikes were on the horizon and that rates may remain higher for longer than previously expected.  The 10-year Treasury yield soared to its highest levels since 2007 as investors worried about higher rates. 
 
As the Fed moved forward, as largely expected, by not hiking its policy rate, it did release updated forecasts that raised the magnitude for keeping rates higher into 2024 if data remains resilient (Inflation).  As for mortgage rates, the day began in slightly better territory, only to reverse course later in the afternoon.

 

30-yr fixed:  7.47%

15-yr fixed:  6.75%

30-yr Jumbo:  7.40%

30-yr FHA:  6.90%

30-yr VA:  6.92%

I also wanted to air a gripe regarding the road construction on the west side of town.  Who had the bright idea that N. Ventura Avenue (in Oak View), Burnham Road, and Baldwin Road should all be worked on at the same time??  I want names and numbers!!
