Poli Street – $655,000.  This is our listing that I teased about a couple of days ago.  It’s a beautifully remodeled 3/2, 1,530 sq. ft. home, just a couple blocks from downtown Meiners Oaks restaurants.  Come by and check it out during our sneak preview tomorrow morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon!
Changes to the All Listings page:
  • 911 E. Aliso Street – back on the market (had been a pending sale).
  • 810 Libby Avenue – sale pending.
  • 1885 Maricopa Highway #10 – reduced from $255,000 to $240,000.
  • 117 N. Arnaz Street – reduced from $539,000 to $509,000.
  • 682 Spring Street – reduced from $565,000 to $549,000.
  • 1442 S. Rice Road – reduced from $1,350,000 to $1,299,000.  This is also one of our listings; this is a lot of house for the money (on a large lot, to boot).  I could easily see someone pocketing $50,000 per year in income from this property (and perhaps more), because you can legally rent some of the space out as vacation rental – as long as you live in the home.  How many properties can you say that about?  You can see it this Sunday, where it’ll be available to see during open houses.

Here’s a teaser for a new listing we have coming on the market this Thursday.  It’s a remodeled (but not an investor/flip) 3 bed/2 bath, 1,530 sq. ft. home with wood floors, updated kitchen and bathrooms, a bonus room, and tons of room for RV parking.  It will be listed at $655,000.  Look for it!

  • 433 Sunset Street – this Honorable Mention has been sold for $740,000 (originally listed for $789,000).
  • 1202 Loma Drive #126 – sale pending.
  • 11195 N. Ventura Avenue #7 – sale pending.  Congrats to our client/buyer, who had their offer accepted on this home!  Do you believe that “The Secret” book – and its theory that things vibrate at a certain frequency, which attracts other things that also vibrate at that frequency – is a bunch of nonsense?  Perhaps it is, however, we listed a mobile home for sale in Fillmore back in July as an accommodation to an Ojai client (which should close some time this week):  Since then, we’ve put three other mobile homes into escrow (with a fourth likely on the way), each representing the buyer.  We, of course, endeavor to help everyone achieve their goals of buying a home, be it a mobile home or a million-dollar spread.  But we’ve had a total of six mobile home sales in the last 12 years…now we’re going to likely close on five of them before the end of the year – all in the last quarter of 2019.  I’m starting to get a little freaked out…

Over the weekend I made a joke to friends of ours that my iPhone had such a huge library of songs on it (about 8,500) that I could physically feel that it was heavier.  I decided to look this up to see if it was possible, and it turns out, it is…technically.

This article from Science Alert.com has all the details, but here’s a summary:  The minimum extra weight my phone would require before I’d actually notice it would be 7 grams.  One stored data byte actually does have a physical weight – about 1 attogram, or one-quintillionth of a gram.

So, it would take 5.7 quintillion terabytes of data to equal 7 grams.  Put another way, that would be 40 quadrillion phones, each with a 128 gigabyte memory.   Based on my sketchy math skills – this would mean that each of the 7.7 billion people on earth would have to own 5,194,805 cell phones in their lifetime to store this much information.

With the average earthling’s life expectancy pegged at roughly 72.5 years, each person would have to use and fill up 71,652 cell phones per year; or 196 phones per day; or 8 cell phones per hour; or 1.36 cell phones every 10 minutes.

In other words, I have a lot of songs to go…
