Some of the following is fact, some is merely opinion. Either way, we hope you enjoy. Here’s our review for the year 2014:

Best Buy of the Year: 410 Palomar Road (sold for $1,475,000). Located in the Arbolada, this was a remodeled home that hit all the right buttons. The fact that the seller decided to sell the 6-place theater chairs – and that we were able to snag them at a great price – had no effect on our choice as the Best Buy of the year.

Highest Sales Price in Ojai: (Tie) $3,500,000 – 2196 Grand Avenue and 1190 El Toro Road.

Lowest Sales Price in Ojai (mobile homes not included): $237,500 – 11608 N. Ventura Avenue.

Average Sales Price of All Homes Sold in Ojai (mobile homes not included): $790,026 (2013: $644,824).

Average days on the market: 111 days (2013: 110 days).

Best Movie We Saw This Year: Chef. Jon Favreau just seems to have a knack.

Best Video of the Year: “It’s not about the nail.”

Our Favorite New Restauarant: Dayne’s Chicago Beef. We usually enjoy fine dining, but for a taste of Chicago this place can’t be beat. Ray loves the Chicago-style hot dogs (they’re the real deal – Vienna Beef, poppy-seed buns and neon green relish), while Cheryl likes The Bomber Italian beef sandwhich. It’s a bit of trek down to Thousand Oaks, but if it’s on your way to something it’s worth a stop. (Note: Dayne’s closed their doors in September, 2016. They were attempting to find a new location, but as of this date – 6/7/17 – a new storefront has not opened.)

Favorite new Ojai activity: Trivia night at Ojai Sports Grill. Tuesday nights on the patio with our friends (and past clients) Rosi, Ken, Linda, Marcy, Matt and Sue have been a blast! It’s three hours of laughter and pretty darn good food – we look forward to it every week.
